Vedic Astrology is the oldest and most authentic system among all the systems of astrology. Many students and researchers also follow this method. The principles of Lal Kitab are inspired by Vedic Astrology. Therefore, to understand Lal Kitab we have to analyze both the systems of astrology through a comparative method.
First of all, we will discuss what is Lal Kitab and how does it work? Palmistry is the basis of astrology according to Lal Kitab. The mathematical method of Lal Kitab is taken from Vedic Astrology. Therefore, we can say that this book is based on the rules of palmistry + Vedic Astrology. It also has some of its own rules and principles. Let us know how the birth-chart is created in Lal Kitab. Accordng to Vedic Astrology three following things are required to create birth chart:
1. Birth-date
2. Birth-time
3. Birth-place
These three help to create a birth-chart. Any change in time will lead to a change in the Ascendant sign.
Earlier the birth-chart of Lal kitab was created on the basis of Vedic Astrology, but now it is based on placing Aries in the Ascendant house and planets in the same house(s) as they are located in the vedic birth-chart. Because in Lal kitab the signs remain stable within the house(s), therefore each Ascendant in Lal kitab is formed with Aries.
Birth-place and time are also important for the creation of kundali in Lal kitab. Sign of each planet changes according to same rule. In vedic astrology it is not fixed that in which sign Jupiter will be located if it transits through the fourth house in the birth-chart, while in Lal kitab when Jupiter transits through the fourth house it is located in Cancer. For example, firstly the Ascendant is identified on the basis of Vedic Astrology, then the nine planets are placed within the signs of house(s) to transform the positions of planets of vedic astrology into the kundali of Lal kitab. The planets should remain in the same house(s) but the number of each house should be changed and Aries should be located in the Ascendant and Cancer in the fourth house to create the kundali of lal kitab.
