Kaalsarp dosh in kundli , can make you powerless !

Kaal means death. The person born under complete Kaal Sarp yoga passes through death like agonies through out his life. Kaal Sarp yoga is formed when all the planets are situated between Rahu and Ketu. It is one of the malefic yogas. If it is present in the horoscope the person has to face lots of difficulties, obstacles and setbacks in life. He does not get desired results inspite of putting lot of efforts.

Kaalsarpa yoga is one of the most popular myths in astrology whose existence in any natives horoscope is treated as worse. Kalsarpa yoga has always created fear among public though the origin of kalsarpa yoga is not clear and is not mentioned in any of the classic astrological texts.

As per traditional astrologers  kalsarpa yoga happens when all planets come under Rahu and Ketu in a natal chart, kalsarpa yoga is divided into twelve types ie. Ananta kalsarpa yoga, Kulika kalsarpa yoga, vasuki kalsarpa yoga, sankhpala kalsarpa yoga, padma kalsarpa yoga, mahapadma kalsarpa yoga, takshaka kalsarpa yoga, markotana kalsarpa yoga, shankhachuda kalsarpa yoga, patak kalsarpa yoga, vishakta kalsarpa yoga, seshnaga kalsarpa yoga.

Shani grah (saturn planet) can make you from king to poor person !

Shani Bhagavan is one of the nine Navagraha or planets. Shani is considered to be the strongest malefic and a stern teacher who represents patience, effort, endeavour, and endurance; and who brings restrictions and misfortunes. However, a favourably-placed Shani on the horoscope of a person stands for a strong career, healthy life and everything positive for that person. In fact, a well-placed Shani in one’s horoscope is something every astrology-believing Hindu hopes for, as no other ‘graha’ can bestow what a favourable Shani can. Shani placed “unfavourably”, on the other hand, denotes troubles in all of the above. Shani is much feared by those Hindus who believe in astrology, as the “malefic” effects of his being unfavourably placed can be quite severe. However, it is to be remembered that any pleasure or pain that befalls a person during Shani’s influence is not arbitrary; rather, it is the result of the person’s own karma, now being manifested in the “presence” of Shani. Thus an “unfavourably-placed” Shani brings about the harsh results of one’s bad karma, and vice-versa.The diseases which Lord Shani gives are decay, constriction, poor blood supply, atrophy, etc. and at mental level narrow mind, low thinking. These diseases need to be cured by Lord Shani rules and regulations only.
The planet Shani or Saturn revolves around the Sun in about 30 years, which means it passes through all the 12 rashis or moonsigns in 30 years. Thus Shani Bhagavan spends on an average about two and half years in each rashi or moon sign. This movement of Shani through the moon signs carries great importance in Hindu astrology and horoscope predictions. The effect of Shani starts when it enters the previous rashi/moon sign to one’s own birth rashi and stops when it leaves the rashi /moon sign after one’s birth rashi. The total period of 7.5 years (2.5 years ᅢラ 3) is called Saadesaati or “Elanata Shani”, and is typically a period of great difficulty. When it occurs for a person foregoing Shani Maha Dasha the malefic effects of the planet are highly pronounced. It is said that Shani can reduce even a king to a pauper during such period.

Shani Bhagavan has the following associations: his color is black or dark blue, metal is iron and gemstone is Blue Sapphire. His element or tattva is air, direction is west (where the sun sets and darkness begins) and he rules all seasons. The traditional foods for Shani are sesame seeds or black gram, black lentils or udad, his flower is the violet and he is linked to all black animals and all trees that are considered useless and ugly.
Shani rules over masses. Without the planet’s blessings in one’s horoscope, a mass following is difficult to come by. It is said that an exalted Saturn in the ascendant (or Lagna) of one’s horoscope awards one with such leadership position entailing fame from and recognition among masses. More over, such people are said to have high commitment and perseverance for the task at hand. On the other hand, a debilitated Saturn in one’s horoscope makes one’s ‘Karma’ weak and such individual with debilitated Saturn is said to have poor commitment and perseverance towards duties and hence suffers in the process of completing one’s karmic obligations. Hence ‘Moksha’ is difficult to come by without Shaniswara’s blessings in one’s horoscope.
Lord Shaniswara is also known as Needhiman(Judge). He only troubles the person during his dasa for the wrong doings. Even in Shani Dosha, if a person is Righteous & Devoted he is sure to come out of this period without any ill effects.
Lord Shaniswara is more known for his Blessings than his ill effects. No other graha is comparable with Lord Shani in terms of blessings. He showers with his blessings at the end of his dasha. His Adi-Devata is Prajapati and Pratyadi-Devata is Yama. Lord Shani tests the person patience, He tries to correct our immoral acts by creating frustrations, and delays. In the end He makes one conscious enough to understand the mistakes. He removes ignorance from mind by punishment, the benefits that He matures the soul of being and person turns copper to gold from within i.e. he begins to understand the Truths of life, the futility of his actions done out of ignorance. One comes to understand after Lord Shani periods that not much is in control of human beings. It is all Divine acting on human beings through the agents of Gods. Lord Shani is the greatest purifier, everything false will perish and only Truth will shine, that is His message. People born on number 8 are ruled by Lord Shani in numerology. It is a proven fact that number 8, 26 born on any month will have hardships in their life. The hardship have a purpose and it is important to identify the purpose in this lifetime.

Kundli milan (birth chart match) is necessary ?

“Marriages are made in heaven” but one most not forget that marriages are broken on earth’. For a happy marriage alliance, it is necessary to form a correct  judgment as to suitability or otherwise of a couple. It is very common, almost necessary, to consult an astrologer about a proposed marriage alliance to see whether the horoscopes of boy & girls agree. Amongst Hindus, marriage comprehends the equality of partners in respect of Dharma, Artha, Kama & Moksha. It is to be very clearly understood that matching of horoscopes is not the first stage of negotiating an alliance. It is to be reserved till all other considerations like physical fitness, mental abilities, cultural-social-economic status have been taken into account.

For a common person-matching of horoscopes means matching of ‘Gana or Kuta’ & examination of horoscopes from the point of view of ‘Mangali Dosha’. This is, however entirely wrong conception of matching of horoscopes. Matching in astrology, means much more than these factors. The astrologer is aware of a cases where divorce took place within a month of marriage although all 36 points were matching, which was really a unique case. On the other hand, with only 4 or 5 Ganas matched, couples are living happily ever after 30 year of their marriage. In fact, much touted practice of Gana matching does not deserve the importance it is usually given nor it is to be considered as a decisive factor in matching. The various factors in match matching in order of importance are :-

   1. Longevity of partners
   2. Mental & Physiological health
   3. Factors showing separation or divorce
   4. Compatibility of partners

The question of  compatibility between partners will arise only if first 3 factors indicate that both are going to stay together.
Therefore, after examining basic structures of Horoscopes of partners, it is ensured that long married life is indicated when this assurance is indicated, question of compatibility of partners comes into picture which is examined by ‘Gana’ agreement & ‘Mangali dosha’. The need for assessing the structure of the horoscope need be over emphasized before examining aspect of compatibility.
There are total 36 Ganas and in the Gana agreement, compatibility of partners is examined from various points of views relevant to happy married life. The various aspects & points assigned to them are –

   1. Nadi – 8
   2. Bhakoot (mutual disposition of moon signs) – 7
   3. Gana-maitri – 6
   4. Friendship between lords of moon signs – 5
   5. Yoni – 4
   6. Tara – 3
   7. Vasya – 2
   8. Varna – 1

Maximum  importance in Gana agreement is given to Nadi which indicates physiological & hereditary factors. Depending upon birth nakshtras, nadi is of three types namely ADI, MADHYA, & ANTYA. If Boys & Girls belong to same Nadi, it is considered as Nadi Dosha & marriage may not be recommended. Nadi dosha adversely affects the compatibility & health of married couple. After Nadi, next in importance comes matching of moon-signs i.e to examine mutual disposition of moon-signs of two. These relations may be 7-7, 2-12, 3-11, 4-10, 5-9 & 6-8.

Gana-maitri indicates nature of native and are classified as Divine (Deva), Human (Manushya) & Demon (Rakshash). Deva gana indicades dignity & goodness, Manushya indicates  combination of good & bad, whereas Rakshash indicates contempt, meanness, & selfishness. Marriage between boy & Girl belonging to same gana is considered Best, whereas between boy of Deva gana & girl of Rakshash gana is prohibited. Matching of lords of moon signs is important from the point of harmony between husband & wife. Yoni indicates sexual compatibility between partners. The Tara indicates problems in the married life, likely to be faced by the couple. Vashya is very important for the purpose of mutual attraction between the partners. Varna which are categorized as Brahmin, Kshtrya & Shudra indicates the capacity to shoulder the responsibility of the family. For happy married life, the compatibility of boy should be more than that of girl.

We, therefore , see the compatibility from the different angles and in case there is matching of more than 18 ganas, marriages are recommended.

The other important factor which is considered for matching of horoscopes and understood by each and every individual in our country is ‘Mangali Dosha’. The ‘Mangali Dosha’ means the harmful effects of Mars. Among the malefic planets, Mars has come to enjoy such an important role in breaking of marriages that the harmful influences of Mars has come to be known as ‘Mangali Dosham’ and boy or girl having adverse influence of Mars in the horoscope is general known as ‘Mangali’ Boy or ‘Mangali’ Girl.

Types of astrology : Babylonian astrology

In Babylon as well as in Assyria as a direct offshoot of Babylonian culture, astrology takes its place in the official cult as one of the two chief means at the disposal of the priests (who were called bare or "inspectors") for ascertaining the will and intention of the gods, the other being through the inspection of the liver of the sacrificial animal .

Babylonian astrology was the first organized system of astrology, arising in the second millennium B.C. There is speculation that astrology of some form appeared in the Sumerian period in the 3rd millennium BC, but the isolated references to ancient celestial omens dated to this period are not considered sufficient evidence to demonstrate an integrated theory of astrology. The history of scholarly celestial divination is therefore generally reported to begin with late Old Babylonian texts (c. 1800 B.C.), continuing through the Middle Babylonian and Middle Assyrian periods (c. 1200 B.C.).

By the 16th century B.C. the extensive employment of omen-based astrology can be evidenced in the compilation of a comprehensive reference work known as Enuma Anu Enlil. Its contents consisted of 70 cunieform tablets comprising 7,000 celestial omens. Texts from this time also refer to an oral tradition - the origin and content of which can only be speculated upon.At this time Babylonian astrology was solely mundane, and prior to the 7th century B.C. the practitioners' understanding of astronomy was fairly rudimentary. Because of their inability to accurately predict future celestial phenomena and planetary movement very far in advance, interpretations were done as the phenomena occurred or slightly before.By the 4th century, however, their mathematical methods had progressed enough to calculate future planetary positions with reasonable accuracy, at which point extensive ephemerides began to appear.

Of the planets five were recognized—Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Mercury and Mars—to name them in the order in which they appear in the older cuneiform literature; in later texts Mercury and Saturn change places.

These five planets were identified with the gods of the Babylonian pantheon as follows:

    * Jupiter with Marduk,
    * Venus with the goddess Ishtar,
    * Saturn with Ninurta (Ninib),
    * Mercury with Nabu (Nebo),
    * Mars with Nergal.

The movements of the Sun, Moon and five planets were regarded as representing the activity of the five gods in question, together with the moon-god Sin and the Sun-god Shamash, in preparing the occurrences on earth. If, therefore, one could correctly read and interpret the activity of these powers, one knew what the gods were aiming to bring about.

Everything you want to know about Natal Astrology !

Natal astrology, also known as genethliacal astrology, is the system of astrology based on the concept that each individual's personality or path in life can be determined by constructing a natal chart for the exact date, time, and location of that individual's birth. Natal astrology can be found in the Indian or Jyotish, Chinese and Western astrological traditions.

In Horoscopic astrology an individual's personality is determined by the construction of the horoscope or birth chart for the particular individual involved (known as the native), showing the positions of the sun, moon, planets, ascendant, midheaven, and the angles or aspects among them.

Once the horoscope has been constructed the process of interpretation can begin, which involves building a complete picture of the personality of the subject, or native. Interpretation involves three main steps: noting the important features of the chart, and the processes of chart weighting and chart shaping. Chart weighting involves noting the distribution of zodiac signs and houses in the chart, and the significance of this to the overall personality of the native. Chart shaping involves assessing the placement of the planets by aspect and position in the chart, and noting any significant patterns which occur between them.

Astrology is generally considered a pseudoscience by the scientific community and what little statistical evidence exists fails to show a correlation between natal birth charts and real world consequences.

The important features of every chart that the astrologer must give special attention to are the positions of the sun and moon by sign and house; the sign on the ascendant, and the planet that rules that sign, called the ascendant ruler or chart ruler. Also important is the first planet to occupy the first, second, or third houses after the ascendant. Called the rising planet it will be particularly strong in the chart. If no planet occupies the first three houses, then a planet in the twelfth house close to the ascendant can be taken to be the rising planet. Planets that are in conjunction to (right beside) the primary angles of ascendant, midheaven, descendant, or IC (known as angular planets) must also be especially considered.

Shani Shingnapur is situated in Ahamadnagar District. The presiding deity of Shinganapur, Sri Shaneshwara or Shanidev- the personification of the planet Saturn is worshipped with utmost reverence and devotion by multitudes of people from all over the world. The spectacle of the deity in black stone is overwhelming. A unique aspect of this place is, that no temple structure houses the Shanidev. There is only a simple platform on which stands the swayambhu idol, in black stone.

The houses of this village & surrounding area don't have any doors & windows. Because here thieves are supposed to become blind immediately if they steal. The door-less architecture makes its presence felt right from the famous temple Sri Shaneshwar Graha Devatha. Shanishwara safeguards the houses and the villagers abstain from meat, liquor and theft for fear of the Lord. The only barrier to enter a house are curtains which keep out stray animals. People believe that nobody dares to steal anything because they are punished by Shanishwara, the local deity, and the owner has always got the stolen things back - if any such thing ever happens.

The presiding deity of Shinganapur, Sri Shanishwara the personification of the planet Saturn is worshipped with utmost reverence and devotion by multitudes of people from all over the world. The spectacle of the deity in black stone is overwhelming. A unique aspect of this place is that no temple structure houses the Shanidev. There is only a simple platform on which stands the swayambhu (self-born) idol, in black stone. A Neem tree stands sentinel to the North of the Shani idol.

Devotees generally wear a saffron-coloured attire and have a head bath in the holy water close to the temple before entering it. There is no priest to perform the pooja. The pooja is carried out in the form of offering Pradakshinams - of going around the idol a couple of times, chanting specific prayers such as Shani gayathri and slokas. Devotees also perform Abhishekam with water and gingelly oil.

There is also a belief that if a person is bitten by a snake in Shinganapur and is brought near the idol and a ritual is performed, the poison gets neutralised. If you are suffering from Sade sati ,Dhaiya or have a negative effect of planet Shani (Saturn) in your horoscope , then this is the place you must visit .

Legend

As per a legend , It is said that long long ago there were floods and one idol came floating  in the flood. It was struck to a Bari tree. The cowboys went to the bank of Panas Canal at a distance of 100-150 meters in order to feed these cattle, soon after the flood had subsided and saw this idol. One of the boys picked up a stick and  pricked into the idol with a force. The stick got pierced in the idol and it was a great wonder to see blood oozing from the wound. You can see  the mark of the wound on the idol even today at Shinganapur. On hearing this all the people of all ages rushed to the site  of the  idol  to  see  the  miracle  with their own eyes. One of the Bhaktas who had seen this miracle had a dream where in  he  heard Shani Maharaj saying, " The place where you saw the miracle of my physical manifestation is where you take me and establish me." He reported  his  dream  to  others  in  the  village.  There  after everybody went to the site in their bullock carts  and  tried  to lift  the  idol  but  in  vain.  The idol refused to move from its place. The people of the village thus returned disappointed. The devotee on the next day again dreamt in which he was told, " The persons who are related should take  me  carrying  on  two  black bullocks who are also related as mama bhacha so that I shall come with pleasure. My establishment also should be performed by  mama bhacha only. Therefore  with  two  Black-bullocks every body went along with mama bhacha. The  idol, which  was  not lifted earlier ,was easily lifted and brought by mama bhacha as per dream. The shrine is open air, without roof. In fact there is no enclosing structure in 1990, an east facing multi deity temple was built west of the Shani idol. The premises also contain a tomb of one saint - Udasi Baba. Shri Shanaishwara Public Trust was established in 1963.

Kala sarpa yoga, the most dangerous yoga in any birth chart !

Kala sarpa yoga: As per hindu mythological stories, head of snake is called as Rahu, tail of snake is called as ketu. They both are placed opposite to each other at 180 degree and never meet together. rahu and ketu are shadow planets. They do not have any solid form and can neither be seen through naked eye or through telescopes. If all the seven planets are placed in between Rahu and ketu then it is called as kalasarpa yoga. If all the seven planets are placed in between ketu and Rahu then it is called as kala amrita yoga. Not much detail about this yoga is given in any of the famous jyothish scripts. It seems this yoga has been inserted in the medieval period by some jyothish experts.

Effects of kala sarpa yoga: Kalasarpa yoga stops other good yogas in the horoscope to give its fruitful effects to the native. Anybody affected by kala sarpa yoga faces lot of problems . they face lot of mental restlessness, pessimistic thoughts and instability in life. They often see snakes in their dreams. They struggle a lot to make their life stable. They get deceived by near and dear ones. Few get seperated from their family and move away from their native place. Particularly if he gets rahu or ketu dasha, he faces lot of mental problems. some get addicted to bad habbits or involve in unlawful activities. Even their close friends and relatives might deceive them. He will face lot of troubles and will have to strive hard to settle in the first half of his life.

Ketu ,most cruel problems provider in astrology

Like Rahu, Ketu is also an imaginary planet or a node that is positioned opposite Rahu. The constellations govered by him are Ashwin, Magha and Mool. An interesting story has already been described above while discussing about Rahu. The North node is called Rahu and the South node is known as Ketu. It is believed to represent the tail of demon.

The South node or Ketu is regarded as a point of difficult Karma from his past life where a person reaps the results of his selfish and egoist deeds of the past. The other side of Ketu represents the tendency towards Moksha or liberation and mastery of secret and mysterious knowledge.

Rahu and Ketu are famous for giving sudden and unexpected results. Both Rahu and Ketu are the parts of the same demon. Both are 180 degree apart. When Ketu, Sun and Moon lie in the same zodiacal longitude lunar eclipse takes place. Rahu has special enmity with Sun and Ketu with Moon.

Profession-wise, magicians, medical parishioners, astrologer and doctors are ruled by Ketu. Both Rahu and Ketu, the imaginary nodes, are the mysterious forces and show karmic and spiritual influences in the birth chart.

Like Rahu, Ketu also does not rule any zodiac sign since it has no physical appearance. Our Rishis have allotted Sagittarius sign as the house of exaltation for KETU. Some scholars think Ketu is exalted in Scorpio. Likewise it is debilitated in Gemini or Taurus. Ketu is considered strong in Jupiter sign.

Ketu feels comfortable with Mercury, Venus, Saturn and Rahu. Ketu is neutral to Jupiter. His enemies are Mars, Sun and Moon.

Ketu is planets known for spirituality. The person influenced by the planet is gifted with spiritual achievements. His other interests also show his bent towards religious and secret awareness including supernatural powers and ghost related subjects. Such persons have great healing power and have the ability to heal through their spiritual and tartaric power.

Period allotted to Ketu Mahadasha is seven years.

Ketu, if placed favorably in horoscope, brings a lot of luxury, wisdom and intuition to a person. If unfavorable, he causes unnecessary depression, poor concentration, boundless worries, anxiety and ghost related problems.

Rahu , the most malefic result provider planet

Rahu and Ketu have no physical shape. These are the imaginary points in the sky. But even then, Rahu is considered most powerful and has been allotted the status of a planet by our Rishis and seers. Mostly, Rahu confers malefic effect. He is considered a dirty planet indicating laziness, filthiness, delays and hurdles. He stays for 18 months in a zodiac sign.

In Hindu mythology there is an interesting fiction that describes how Rahu and Ketu came into existence. Once both, the gods and the demons agreed to form an alliance to produce nectar that could give them immortality. Nectar was to be obtained by churning the ocean. In the process, nectar was churned out. When the nectar was being served to the gods, a demon, disguised as a god, and sat between the Sun and the Moon in an attempt to acquire the nectar. The demon was recognized by the Sun and the Moon who complained of the demon to Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu immediately severed his head from his chakra. But the demon had already consumed enough nectar to make him immortal. The head of the demon, known as Rahu, became immortal. And the remaining corpse of the demon was known as Ketu. Ever since, Rahu and Ketu became the strong enemy of Sun and Moon. Sun and Moon eclipses occur due to Rahu and Ketu who swallow up Sun and Moon when they come near to them. In this way Rahu and Ketu take their revenge from Sun and Moon.

In Vedic astrology Rahu and Ketu are known as two invisible planets and they are strong enemies of the Sun and the Moon. Rahu and Ketu are actually the astronomical points in the sky respectively called the north and south lunar nodes. The places of intersection where the Moon`s path meet the Sun`s path is known as North Lunar Node and South Lunar Node respectively. Thus, the relation of Rahu and Ketu with Sun and Moon has been described through the language of symbol in Hindu mythology.

Rahu is a powerful and malefic planet. This is a favorable planet of the politicians. He gives them great opportunity and power to rise in the politics through any means fair or unfair. He also rules over thieves, jail, magicians, snake, poison and isolated places etc. Rahu has also the power to confer sudden wealth.

Being a shadow planet, Rahu has not been allotted any Zodiac Sign. Even then, Rahu exalts in Taurus Sign. If placed negative in a horoscope, he can create confusion, depression and emotional imbalances. On the other hand, he also has the power to make a person wealthy and popular. During his transit or Mahadasha, a person is more prone to fall prey of black magic. He is powerful when placed in 3rd, 6th and 11th house of a horoscope.

Mercury (budh) in vedic astrology

Mercury is nearest to the Sun. In Vedic Astrology this is called Budh which means cleverness. This planet represents the qualities of intelligence, wit and humor in a person. Mercury is considered a benefic planet but under some situations it may play a role of malefic planet. Mercury placed in 6th, 8th or 12th houses fails to deliver good results. The same is the result when Mercury is the lord of 6th, 8th or 12th houses in a horoscope. Mercury is the planet of communication and it represents the fields related to commerce, trade, accounts, banking, and computers. A Strong Mercury denotes success in these fields. People with Mercury in strong position in their chart have sharp thinking but inborn anxiety and indecisiveness also. Mercury is dual natured planet and governs two zodiac signs namely Gemini and Virgo. Body parts that are ruled by Mercury are the arms, ear, lungs and nervous system. Mercury believes in logic. People with strong Mercury in their horoscopes possess the excellence of reasoning and analytic ability. Researchers also have strong Mercury in their natal chart. Telephone and Telegraph controls means of communication too; therefore Mercury also governs the work related to telephone, telegraphs, e-mails, couriers and post etc. Therefore well-placed, strong mercury is usually seen in horoscopes of writers, astrologers, mathematician, engineer, dealers, brokers, businessmen (a person with Mercury in strong position in their chart is undeniably charming and shrewd), and media persons. Mercury also develops verbal communication and hand skills. Hence many lecturers, artists, sculptors and salesmen are also the result of well-placed mercury.

Moon (chandra) in vedic astrology

Life on the earth is sustained due to presence of Luminaries in our Solar System- almighty Sun and peaceful cool Moon. Sun governs Soul and Moon rules emotions and feelings. There would be no life on earth without these two luminaries. Astrologically speaking, Moon denotes mental and emotional power in human beings. She is Mann (feelings) which plays very important role in the life of human beings in maintaining stable relations with each others. Here, in this article, I shall try to highlight the astrological role Moon plays in the life of human beings.

Moon is considered Queen of the Solar System. According to Vedic System of Astrology, Moon is a natural benefic and is capable of giving great mental power and prosperity. Prosperity in life is directly linked with the combined positions of Moon with Jupiter or other benefic planets in a horoscope. Jupiter signifies wealth. The combination of these two planets is specially considered very auspicious for wealth and prosperity.

Moon is considered tender by nature and represents love and beauty. Poets have written lot on the beauty of Moon and have compared the beauty of woman with Moon in their poems. Moon has been a favorable subject for the scientist too.

Though Moon is smallest among planets but due to its closeness with the Earth, she has enormous effect on the human beings on the earth. It has direct affect on females. The menstrual periods are governed by the movement and difference phases of Moon.

The Sun and Moon are considered the two eyes of the universe. The Moon is so important and auspicious in Hindu mythology that women break their fast after having a look at Moon in the night. Some special fasts are directly related to Moon. In Vedic Astrology, Moon has been considered as having the power of ascendant and extraordinary importance is given by preparing separate natal chart using Moon as Ascendant. Major and sub period in Hindu astrology are based on the Moon nakshatras.

Saturn (shani) planet in astrology

In Hindu Astrology, Shani means which moves slowly- shanaiye shanaiye. Planet Saturn has also been named after his nature. He moves very slowly. He takes about two and a half year to cross a zodiac sign. Actually, Saturn is a very huge planet and is placed at a great distance from Earth. Due to this distance, we find him moving slowly.

Mythically, Saturn is son of Lord Surya and his wife Chhaya (Shadow). Saturn has strained relations with his father. Saturn is considered as dry and cold planet. He represents old people. Saturn is considered a malefic planet in Astrology. But when placed in beneficial sign and house, he bestows a person with great wealth and fame. In adverse condition, this planet gives loss, sorrow, poverty, misery, accidents and hurdles in life. Saturn gets directional strength in seventh house.

Saturn is connected with the age and longevity of an individual. He gives long life if placed favorably in horoscope.

In spite of his bad name, Saturn is actually considered as a teacher. He behaves like a teacher, who punishes the students when they err and rewards them for their good deeds.

Saturn is also the planet of justice. He behaves like judge and gives justice depending upon the deeds of a person. The person who commits sin and bad karmas are rewarded results accordingly.

Saturn rules over bones. All the large bones in the body of legs are governed by Saturn. Saturn, as per his nature, gives long-term diseases. Such diseases are long termed and hardly curable. So a person has to bear with the long illness. Number 8 is the numerological sign of Saturn.

A person under influence of Saturn has to work hard in life. Saturn represents labour class who work die hard to earn a little livelihood. Land and all the products beneath earth are governed by Saturn. As such, all the mining items are ruled by him. Iron is his metal and his colour is black/ blue. Zodiac sings which Saturn governs are Capricorn and Aquarius. He is exalted in Libra and debilitated in Aries. His mooltrikon sign is Aquarius.

Saturn believes in discipline and strictness and never likes chaos and disobeys. In Hindu Astrology, Saturn has great significance. People are afraid of this planet due to his strictness and discipline. The slow transit of this planet offers two important common periods namely Sadhe Sati and Dhaiya. Every person undergoes the period of Sadhe Sati and Dhaiya many a times in his life. Sadhe Sati is a period when Saturn transits the twelfth and second house of the natal Moon. Similarly, if Saturn is placed fourth and eight from the natal moon, period of Dhaiya takes place. Period of Sadhe Sati is seven and a half year and period of Dhaiya is two and a half year.

These two periods are considered very difficult time in a native's life. He has to face many hardship and problems in life and gets no respite from any circle. Astrologically, speaking, this is the time when a person experiences enlightment while going through the hard time. By suffering hardship, a person is balancing his sins. Here, we can understand the difference in the nature of Mars and Saturn. Hardship faced by a person under the influence of Mars can make him a dacoit or thief. But, this is not the case with Saturn. In such circumstances, the Saturn will turn a person towards spirituality and forces him to think what is the cause of his misery i.e. bad deeds are responsible of his present situation. Slowly he becomes pious.

He is the paradisiacal giver of divine knowledge upon the mortal land.

In the studies of astrology, it has been the first and most benefic planet and for the same, it is believed to be the most auspicious. There is a reason for this. In Vedic astrology, Brihaspati is the natural karaka of 4 very important house. So irrespective of the ascendant and lordship ,it is beneficial for the natives of all the ascendant. Jupiter is the natural karaka of 2nd house (house of wealth, speech), 5th house (House education, diplomacy and children), 9th house( House of Luck and religion) and 11th house (House of gains).  In the world of astrology it has been given many names comprising Lord of power, Lord of wisdom, Lord of sacred speech, Guru of Gods, God of Gods, etc.

The good placement of Jupiter in the chart expresses the level of wisdom, attitude of benevolence, sense of justice, color of thoughts, independent outlook, dreams of life and philosophical aspects in the lives of an individual.

The most potent and highest positive position of Jupiter in the horoscope chart is the first house besides which it is perceived to impact good both in kendra’s (4th house, 7th house and 10th house) as well as in auspicious trikona houses( 5th house and 9th house). The houses which got aspects of Jupiter got enhanced in the auspicious matters and the ill impacts caused by other malefic planets are removed.

The planet Jupiter governs over the Zodiac Sagittarius and Pisces. So for the natives having Sagittarius and Pisces ascendants, Brihaspati becomes increasingly benefic. Apart from it , for the Aquarius ascendant natives, it is the lord of 2nd and 11th house (both of the houses are related to wealth and gains) so it solely represent the wealth, money and gains and in case of this ascendant , it is also a very beneficial planet in terms of gains and affluence.

A weak Jupiter in the horoscope may cause many problems like lack of wisdom, poor grasping, lack of wealth, unnecessary expenditures, struggle, problems in marriage and peace of mind, average support of luck, problems in education and child birth, problems in speech and harmony in family. However, these are general results and could only be perfectly predicted after the study of all other planets and houses as well.

One more significant aspect associated with the planet Jupiter says that the positive impacts of the planet upon the individual are believed to be the reflection of his positive deeds in his or her previous life as the natives get endowed with different shades of life on account of what they left around when they lived earlier. In the lives of women, it has  a different significance as it determines the path of marital life and enclosure of relationships in her journey of life upon this land.

Sun (surya) planet in astrology

Life on the earth is sustained due to presence of almighty Sun. There would be no life on earth without Sun. Astrologically speaking Sun is the centre of extreme power and all the planets revolve around him due to his huge gravitational force. Sun is indeed the Lord and Almighty. He is Prana and plays vital role in the life of human beings. Here, in this article, I shall try to highlight the very importance of Lord Sun in Vedic Astrology also.

In out Solar System, all the planets revolve round the Sun in a separate orbit. Sun gives light and life. All the planets depend on Sun for energy. He is the most powerful of all the planets in our solar system. All the energies on the earth are fuelled by the rays of Sun. Due to this power, he is considered as King or father of our solar system. Sun is the only source of energy and other planets in our solar system reflect only suns` light.

Sun rays are connected with the inner most spirit of human beings. Hence, the Sun is depicted as the Soul of the universe representing the life-force on the earth. In Vedic Astrology, Sun has been described as Soul (Atma) of all beings. Sun is self of a person.

Favorable placement of Sun in a horoscope brings fame and power to a person in all areas including the field of occupation. It has power to grant great political power. Adverse placement can make a person arrogant and may cause mental and emotional disorders. Pessimistic attitude and humiliation at the hands of others become part of the life.

Numerologically, his number is One. Importance of Lord Sun can be realized with the fact that his presence brings hope and energy in the form of day and his absence brings night in the form of dark.

Same is the result when Venus is afflicted with the presence or aspect of malefic planets.

Venus rules over eyes, nose, chin, throat, sexual organs, kidneys, bladder etc. A badly placed Venus indicates dysfunction of these parts. Venus is considered to be a benefic, feminine and gentle planet.

Everything you want to know about Manglik dosha !

Who is a Manglik?

Manglik is a common word today. But who is Manglik astrologically or what is Manglik Dosha is not known to common man. Normally all believe in this myth. During matching of Horoscope of boy and girl before marriage people consult Pundits and Traditional Astrologer which result into rejection of most agreeable match of boy and girl and mental pain to love birds. Manglik Dosha is a main factor considered by them while doing Kundli Milan (Gun Milan).

According to Traditional Astrology, when the planet Mars is located in certain houses of the horoscope, it casts malefic influences on various life aspects of that person. A person having such an afflicted Mars status is known as a Manglik. This condition is also called the Kuja Dosha or the Bhauma Dosha. Rishi Parashara enunciated his theory as the configuration for a widower, and this is one of the extreme cases of Mars affliction.

What is Mars Dosha / Manglik Kundli?

Since there are various rules regarding assessment of Mars Dosha, following is the most acceptable view. The computation displayed here is by using these rules.

Mars when it occupies certain houses, i.e. 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th and 12th houses, the horoscope is called as Mars Dosha / Manglik Kundli, meaning that it is vitiated by bad effects of Mars.

Mars Dosha gets neutralized completely (Nirdosh Mangal) if it (Mars) occupies 1) the sign of it's debilitation (Cancer), 2) the sign of it's enemy (Gemini or Virgo), 3) the sign Mesha and it is in the first house, 3) the sign Scorpio and it is in the fourth house, 4) the sign Capricorn and it is in the seventh house, 5) the sign Leo and it is in the eighth house, 6) the sign Sagittarius and it is in the twelfth house and 7) when it is aspected by Venus.

If Mars or Saturn is placed in any of the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th and 12th houses of your partner then it will counter your chart's Mars Dosha and will make the pair acceptable.

The Manglik report will tell you whether you are really Manglik or not. Whether Mars is really going to affect your married and social life or not? Even Traditional Astrologers are saying you a Manglik but then also you can have a happy married life. Yes, its true and we at AskGanesha.com will tell you the real fact of having this kind of combination in your chart.

Lal kitab remedies and vedic astrology

Vedic Astrology is the oldest and most authentic system among all the systems of astrology. Many students and researchers also follow this method. The principles of Lal Kitab are inspired by Vedic Astrology. Therefore, to understand Lal Kitab we have to analyze both the systems of astrology through a comparative method.

First of all, we will discuss what is Lal Kitab and how does it work? Palmistry is the basis of astrology according to Lal Kitab. The mathematical method of Lal Kitab is taken from Vedic Astrology. Therefore, we can say that this book is based on the rules of palmistry + Vedic Astrology. It also has some of its own rules and principles. Let us know how the birth-chart is created in Lal Kitab. Accordng to Vedic Astrology three following things are required to create birth chart:

1. Birth-date
2. Birth-time
3. Birth-place
These three help to create a birth-chart. Any change in time will lead to a change in the Ascendant sign.

Earlier the birth-chart of Lal kitab was created on the basis of Vedic Astrology, but now it is based on placing Aries in the Ascendant house and planets in the same house(s) as they are located in the vedic birth-chart. Because in Lal kitab the signs remain stable within the house(s), therefore each Ascendant in Lal kitab is formed with Aries.

Birth-place and time are also important for the creation of kundali in Lal kitab. Sign of each planet changes according to same rule. In vedic astrology it is not fixed that in which sign Jupiter will be located if it transits through the fourth house in the birth-chart, while in Lal kitab when Jupiter transits through the fourth house it is located in Cancer. For example, firstly the Ascendant is identified on the basis of Vedic Astrology, then the nine planets are placed within the signs of house(s) to transform the positions of planets of vedic astrology into the kundali of Lal kitab. The planets should remain in the same house(s) but the number of each house should be changed and Aries should be located in the Ascendant and Cancer in the fourth house to create the kundali of lal kitab.

Know more about Zodiac signs

The zodiac belt is the band of stars that surrounds the earth like a ring with the 12 main constellations that form this great ring around us. Amongst the millions of stars in the sky, the 7 planets and two invisible planets (in Vedic Astrology) are in constant motion. Each Zodiac is named after patterns, or configuration of animals and features that can be visualised by looking at them in the starry nights. The figures got linked with the symbolic trait endowed by that zodiac to the earth’s inhabitants. Astrology is guided entirely by zodiac signs. Twelve Zodiacs in Horoscope are categorized by the very element that represents them namely Water, Earth, Fire and Air.

Fire Signs: Fire signs are Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. The expression `Fiery in nature` applies perfectly to these signs. Resembling their symbolic element, the people born under these signs posses a fiery drive and liveliness in their behavior. The constant urge to accomplish things is very evident in those lustrous sign holders. Fire also gives a great deal of pride and warmth to the people. The people under element of fire are highly independent. Fire is considered very pure in Hindu texts. It can also be destructive. Similarly, every passionate action taken by the people born under these signs can break and make their karma with ease.

Water Signs: Water signs are Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces. Many water qualities can be seen in the emotional beings born under these signs. Their own emotions run deep, and they have absolutely no problem in sensing and soaking other`s emotions as well. The signs ruled by water are very intuitive. Water can take the shape of the vessel in which it is held. This shows the adaptability of the element and people born in it. This zodiac borne have to take care that they do not hold on to their emotions for too long, as water standing can become stagnated. They have to let the emotions flow gently like a moving water.

Air Signs: Air signs are Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. People born in these zodiacs have a fast and at times multidirectional quick thinking. They take all information with the swift movement of their own. This sign also give good power of speech and communication capabilities. The movement of air is uncontrollable and changeable and so is the basic thought process of these people. Air hates confinement and needs the freedom to move and the same is true for the people influenced by the element. People in these signs need to give a direction and shape to their movements and life.

Earth Signs: Earth signs are Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn. Once formed across the period of time, earth takes the definite shape, and refuses to let it go. The same is true for the characteristics of these signs. People born under it seem grounded and down to earth. They do not like to budge from their opinions and basic character. Their slow, conventional approach to life is the anchoring force for many. They form a good foundation and support system for all the things to accomplish. The people born under it need to be in harmony with all the elements around them, as well as with themselves, to save the world from rare but possible disruptions.

Birth time and some unknown facts -astrology

Birth time: Midnight - 2. 00 am
You will tread a lonely path and attain success thanks to your own merit and ingenuity. You could get alienated from your family, more so from your siblings, and will always feel the need of a sympathetic friend or a companion. You will find several good and honest associates who will help you in the pursuit of your goals in life, but you are always suspicious of others. Relax! Trust those who come forward to help and you will be assured the completion of your goals.

Birth time: 2.00 am - 4.00 am
You are the pampered child of the zodiac. You are loved and helped by anyone who comes into your life. You could get used to the generosity of others and tend to believe that life is a bed of roses. You always make plans assiduously and will certainly succeed in whatever you do.

Birth time: 6.00 am - 8.00 am
You are born with a secret desire to win, and will always endeavour to achieve your goals in life. You were born with a guardian angel - there will always be some hidden forces working in your favour and even protecting you in times of peril. Though this proves demanding, it inspires a sense of purpose and a will to succeed.

Birth time: 12 noon - 2.00 pm
You have dreams but generally wait for divine intervention to accomplish them. You are brilliant and will do well academically, and in whatever task you undertake. However, you may lack the killer instinct or determination to fulfil your objectives. You could become too dependent on your family to give you advice and direction. Birth time: 2.00 pm - 4.00 pm

Birth time: 6.00 pm - 8.00 pm
What others have done, you can do better. True, but you may lack the courage to take chances or risks, and hence may feel that you have been left behind in the rat race. You are forever questioning the validity of established notions and attitudes, and wish to reform the world. You need to stop thinking about the whole world and concentrate on fulfilling your dreams. Members of the opposite sex can play a decisive role in promoting your career.

Birth time: 8.00 pm - 10.00 pm
You live in the past and in your world of dreams. However, you need to have courage and make concerted efforts to fulfil these dreams. You have an amazing amount of self-confidence and don't care about public opinion. You are also highly imaginative, passionate and creative. You tend to turn your hobbies into your profession. Your enthusiasm and zeal leads to great success in your chosen field of activity.

Birth time: 10.00 pm - 12 midnight
You are born in difficult circumstances, which makes you unconventional and a closet rebel. You see the world following an illusion and would like to correct it. This requires you to take chances and risks and those of you who dare to do so will emerge victorious. Those who hesitate are certain to get left behind. But Destiny will throw you in do-or-die situations where you are often given no choice. Your actions then, however unorthodox, will lead to tremendous success, which will inspire others to emulate you.
